Beach clubs in Marbella, Puerto Banús and Estepona: a guide from El Paraíso

The best beach clubs in Marbella, Puerto Banús and Estepona for guests at El Paraíso: Ocean Club, La Sala by the Sea, Nikki Beach, Playa Padre, Trocadero, Sublim, Beso Beach and Macaao, with rough drive times, published prices, seasons and when a simple chiringuito is the better choice.

Beach clubs in Marbella, Puerto Banús and Estepona: a guide from El Paraíso

Beach clubs in Marbella range from Ocean Club's pool parties in Puerto Banús to a long Belgian lunch with your feet in the sand at Guadalmina. We run El Paraíso, a self-catering apartment in Benahavís between Marbella and Estepona, and the beach club question comes up with almost every summer booking: which one, how far, how much, and do you need to book? This guide groups the clubs by area, with rough drive times from Urb. El Paraíso, what each one is like, and only the prices the clubs publish themselves. Check current prices and opening dates before you go.

Most of the big names are seasonal: they open in spring, peak in July and August, and close in October. A few beachfront restaurants with sunbeds stay open all year, and we flag those below.

If you only want sand, a sunbed and a simple lunch, you do not need a beach club at all. Skip to the chiringuito section below.

The best beach clubs in Marbella and Puerto Banús

There is no single best beach club in Marbella. It depends on whether you want a party, a long lunch, a pool or a quiet sunbed. These are our shortlist for different moods.

Ocean Club, Puerto Banús

Ocean Club is the classic Puerto Banús pool club, on the beach just west of the marina in Nueva Andalucía. The club describes itself as 9,000 square metres built around a huge saltwater pool, with extra large beds, waiter service, a restaurant and DJs who start chilled and build to a party as the afternoon goes on. Come for a big group day with music, not a quiet read.

There are no single loungers. You book a bed package. The club's published summer 2026 list started at €300 for a bed for up to three people, including one bottle of Perrier Jouët, with larger and VIP beds up to €1,100 for eight people, and extra minimum spends on VIP beds at weekends and on event days. The 2026 season ended with a closing party on 3 October, so look for next year's packages and opening date on the club's booking site in spring.

La Sala by the Sea, Puerto Banús

La Sala by the Sea sits on the beach near Puerto Banús, close to the Gran Hotel Guadalpín Banús, and is the more relaxed alternative to Ocean Club. Expect Thai-inspired dishes, a pool, beach and pool beds, and DJs, saxophonists or percussion at weekends. If you arrive from the Villa Marina entrance, the club runs a buggy from the gate to the door.

It is also one of the few clubs with a genuinely low entry price. Its published bed menu lists chill out single beach beds at €20 Monday to Wednesday and €30 Thursday to Sunday, with access to the pool, while a single pool sunbed starts at €65. Prices for bigger beds and cabanas go up from there and rise at weekends. At the time of writing the club was closed for the winter, with reopening announced for 21 April 2027.

Puerto Banús makes an easy half day: beach club, a walk past the yachts, then dinner. Our Puerto Banús guide covers the drive, the car parks and the marina walk.

Nikki Beach Marbella, Elviria

Nikki Beach Marbella is the best known name on this coast and has been here since 2003. It is on the beach of the Hotel Don Carlos in Elviria, east of Marbella, with a restaurant, a large pool, beach loungers and a sea view terrace. The format is long, dressed-up daytime parties, with a different themed party most days of the week in season and big event days through the summer.

Opening hours in season are daily from 12:00 to 19:00. The 2026 season closed on 11 October, and the club opens again in spring. Loungers, pool and tables are booked separately, so check the current price on the club's booking page. It is the furthest club in this guide from El Paraíso, so plan a full day.

Playa Padre, Marbella

Playa Padre is on Playa del Cable, just east of Marbella centre. It has hammocks and Balinese beds a few metres from the sea, Mediterranean food with a Mexican accent, signature cocktails and a strong music programme with guest DJs. Its Sunday party, BohoSunday, is the one people talk about. The club's reservations page lists opening from Thursday to Sunday. Pair it with an evening in Marbella Old Town.

Trocadero Arena, Marbella East

Trocadero Arena opened in 2011 on Río Real beach, east of Marbella centre. It calls itself a restaurant by the sea that keeps the spirit of a chiringuito, with a wide terrace, sunbeds and Balinese beds on the sand, a sushi bar and a cocktail bar. It suits a long lunch more than a party.

The official site lists the restaurant as open every day from 11:00 to 01:00, with the kitchen from 13:00 to 23:00, and there is a separate phone line for sunbed bookings. Sunbed prices are not published online, so ask when you book.

Beach clubs in Estepona

Estepona's clubs are closer to El Paraíso than Marbella's, and often calmer and easier to park at. The main cluster is around Playa del Padrón, about 10 to 15 minutes west on the A-7.

Sublim at Laguna

Sublim is the flagship club at Laguna, the beach complex at kilometre 159 of the A-7 between Marbella and Estepona. It has a large pool, a Mediterranean restaurant and direct access to the beach. If you have read older guides that mention Laguna Village or Purobeach here, they are out of date: the old Laguna Village complex was destroyed by fire in August 2020 and the rebuilt site reopened as Laguna in 2024.

Families should read the small print. The club's own policy says that from June to 23 August, under 16s can use the beach area but not the pool area, guests over eight pay the adult rate and need their own sunbed, and children are not allowed during event days. Sublim does not publish a price list on its site, so check current prices when you book.

Beso Beach Estepona

Beso Beach is the Estepona branch of the brand known from Formentera, right on Playa del Padrón among the palm trees. Expect Basque and Mediterranean food and a long lunch that turns into music in the afternoon. It is seasonal, so check opening days and the current sunbed and Balinese bed prices on its booking page before you drive over.

Trocadero Estepona

Trocadero Estepona opened in 2019 on the Playa del Ángel seafront promenade, on the Marbella side of Estepona town. It is a restaurant first, with a Japanese food kiosk and cocktail bar, plus a pool, sunbeds and DJ sessions. There is a car park, which matters in August. The official site lists it as open every day from 11:00 to 00:00.

Make a day of it with a wander around the flower pot streets of the old town afterwards. Our Estepona guide has parking tips and what to see.

The closest option: Macaao at Guadalmina

The nearest beach club to El Paraíso is not in Marbella proper. Macaao Beach Club is on Playa de Guadalmina, between Guadalmina and San Pedro de Alcántara, about 10 to 15 minutes from the apartment. It is run by a Belgian couple from Knokke, and the menu shows it: moules frites, tomate crevette and carabineros, with a good rosé list.

Choose a sunbed on the sand, a Balinese bed or a lounge sofa in the shade. Families are welcome, and there is a large free car park next to the beach. The beach and bar open from 11:00 to 19:00 (20:00 in summer). The club says its quieter season runs into October and November. It does not publish sunbed prices, so ask when you book. For the rest of the town, see our San Pedro de Alcántara guide.

Chiringuito or beach club? Cheaper beach days in Marbella

A chiringuito is a Spanish beach bar or restaurant: grilled sardines on a skewer, fried fish, cold drinks and sunbeds to rent for the day. A beach club adds day beds, music, a full bar and often a pool, with prices to match.

For a normal beach day, a chiringuito is usually the better choice. The beaches at San Pedro and Guadalmina are the closest to El Paraíso, and both have chiringuitos with sunbeds. Next to Puerto Banús, the town hall lists Puerto Banús Levante and Nueva Andalucía (also called El Duque) as beaches with beach bars and sunbeds. In Estepona, Playa de la Rada runs right along the town with chiringuitos on the promenade. Sunbeds cost far less than at the clubs, and outside high season you can usually just walk up.

Tips for a beach club day

  • Book ahead in July and August. Weekends and event days sell out. Late arrivals can lose their bed, so check the cut-off time.
  • Read what the price includes. Some prices are per person, some per bed. Some include a bottle, a towel or credit to spend, and some VIP beds carry an extra minimum spend.
  • Check the rules for children. Several clubs limit pool access for children in peak summer or on event days. The relaxed clubs and chiringuitos are easier with small children.
  • Dress the part. The Puerto Banús and Nikki Beach crowd dresses up. Smart beachwear is the safe choice.
  • Do not drive after drinking. Take a taxi to the party clubs. If you drive to the quieter ones, our car rental guide covers hiring a car at Málaga Airport.
  • Mind the season. Most clubs open in April or May and close in October. Our Costa del Sol weather by month guide shows when the sea is warm enough to enjoy it.

Beach clubs Marbella FAQ

What is the best beach club in Marbella?

It depends what you want. For a party, Nikki Beach in Elviria or Ocean Club in Puerto Banús. For a relaxed day with a pool and fair bed prices, La Sala by the Sea. For a long lunch on the sand, Trocadero Arena or Playa Padre. Closest to El Paraíso, Macaao at Guadalmina.

How much does a beach club in Marbella cost?

It varies a lot. La Sala by the Sea publishes beach beds from €20 a person on weekdays, while Ocean Club's summer 2026 bed packages started at €300 for up to three people. Many clubs do not publish prices, so check current prices with the club when you book.

Are Marbella beach clubs open in winter?

Most of the big clubs close in October and reopen in spring. In 2026 Ocean Club closed on 3 October and Nikki Beach on 11 October, and La Sala by the Sea has announced its reopening for 21 April 2027. Trocadero Arena and Trocadero Estepona list daily opening hours on their sites, and chiringuitos along the coast keep going, though some close or shorten their hours outside summer. Call ahead before a winter visit.

Are there beach clubs in Puerto Banús?

Yes. Ocean Club and La Sala by the Sea are both on the beach next to Puerto Banús, about 15 minutes by car from El Paraíso.

Which beach clubs are good for families?

The relaxed ones. Macaao at Guadalmina welcomes families and has free parking next to the beach. The party clubs and some design clubs restrict children in the pool area in peak summer, so check each club's policy before you book.

Stay close to the coast

El Paraíso puts you in the middle of all this: Puerto Banús and the Estepona clubs about 15 minutes away, Marbella a little further, and a quiet apartment with golf views to come back to after a day on the beach. For more ideas, see our things to do in Marbella guide. Check dates and book on our homepage or on the Airbnb listing.
